| | HH - Breathing in Sequence | ] | "Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.
Sincerely,
Hawthorne Heights"

Poor Casey! I used to obsess over him...because he looked so weird and had a bad lip piercing. I missed the chance to meet him back when I saw HH because my dad was in such a rush to leave...
From one of my previous entries -
"Hawthorne Heights - Finnnaaaallllyyyy!!! Unfortunatley, none of them were in their uniforms, so that left Casey wearing a hideous lime green Nike shirt. Meep. But anyways, they came out in blinding lights. I cant think of all the songs they played, but i know they played "saying sorry", "where do i stab myself in the ears", "the transition", "blue burns orange", "breathing in sequence", "ohio is for lovers" & "pens and needles". Im pretty sure the played "we are so last year" and "this is who we are", too. But they were amazing. Casey was being weird. He kept making strange noises and was B-boxing at one point...hmm...but JT had a sweet little voice. They were apparently watching the game at Camden Yards and getting rained on. They asked how many of us saw em with FOB and a great few had. Casey: "How many of you have our first album? Ok - 5 of you?". :p When they were done playing, we stood around begging for something from the band/stage. I got a bottle of water. :) Im gonna put it on display cause it graced the stage with HH. :p So we turn around and hed back to the merch booth for another poster. While I was standing sorta away from the line, I saw the lead singer of Halifax just chillin with the fans, and I was like, oh hey! but then Kay comes back and is like..."well what about the guy in the white shirt right there? *points*". Me:"erm...thats the drummer for HH!". So we got some pics and autographs from Eron. Content with that, we left and people were waiting around the tour buses for other band members. We grabbed some freebies and followed my dad to the car. However, we SHOULD have stood around for another 5 stinkin minutes! We drive by and see who? CASEY! That weird-guitarist-with-that-bad-piercing was signing autographs! He had to delay by changing his shirt. Hmph! We shouldve jumped out. Poo. But at least we met one of em. "
This piccy was from when i saw them open for FOB.
Rest in peace, crazy dude.

[Jul. 15th, 2007|05:20 pm] |
So we're back from OBX. We left on the 7th and returned the 14th. The drive was like...7 or so hours? Maybe 8? Anyways, it was long. And somehow Bryan managed to make the ride doing nothing and NOT being bored! Some major themes of our trip include frolicing, fiber, spoons, and violence. I'll post pictures and rant as much as I can remember! I have more pics. You can see them when theyre developed. :D Read it all! This took forever to do.

| | Hawthorne Heights - Cross Me Off Your List | ] | Sort of! It's not overly different...but i like it better. Its not so default-ish. But i think i could spiff it up tons if i would take the time to do it. :p
But (haha - i mispelled 'but' as 'nut'...im mature.)...long time no update it seems!
Went to Hersheypark. It was good times. Rode the big bad storm runner. Never doing THAT again. Rode basically everything. Hardly anyone was there - so no wait on anything! Even had some fried zucchini. yummmmm! Got a henna tattoo that says Bert. (Guess who) got Patrick written on their wrist. :p It was pretty sweet. But then again...Hersheypark IS the sweetest place on earth!
That was last tuesday. Ive been doing lots of moving-related crap. There's so much to do. Its crazy. But our sale is being continued next weekend along with some moving into the townhouse.
But last night was a very emo night.
It doesnt really get more emo than what happened last night.
You guessed it...
( HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS CONCERT! )
So yeah.
Im tired and stuff.
Im gonna go lay down for a few minutes. My head is throbbing.

| | LP - Somewhere I Belong | ] | So since Im too lazy to write a review about 2 days of joy involving Claudio Sanchez's AMAZING guitar skills, stupid girls getting pummled by water bottles thrown at them by Brendan Urie (however you spell his name), P!ATD's overall asshole-ness, seeing the Queen Of Punk, the shortest lead singer ever, meeting flyleaf, getting barfed on and smothered by fat crowd surfers during flyleaf, seeing an emotionless drummer with a huge drum-kit, watching Kill Hannah perform "I Wanna Be A Kennedy", realizing that there are men in Damone, aquiring free goods, but no shirt, becoming a HIM fan, liking AFI much more, seeing "Monsters" played live, hearing about how Jimmies Chicken Shack is going to die in a van rollover, sitting in a haze of pot smoke during Cypress Hill, watching OK-GO do a lovely dance and seeing a "So You Think You Can Dance" commercial with a guy bashing his face on the floor over and over but having it remain funny every time...you can read someone elses review who isnt lazy and took the time to be thorough. So enjoy! :D

So...good times Thursday night. For those of you who are COMPLETELY ignorant and have no idea what Thursday night was...well...it was The Blackclouds And Underdogs Tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion featuring October Fall, From First To Last, Hawthorne Heights, The All American Rejects and Fall Out Boy! It was very kick-ass. So...recap? I think so!

| | MCR - "Headfirst For Halos" | ] | ...Well now seems like an appropriate enough time! The biggest event of the past two weeks? MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE/THE ALKALINE TRIO/REGGIE AND THE FULL EFFECT. Last night, at the UMBC field house. Lets just say it was the second best night of my life! :D O.M.G...it was so awesome...even waiting in line was exciting! (except for the fact i kissed a statue of a dog and managed to cut my lip...and that it was effing freezing...and got mistaken for a guy by a security guard because i had a waterbottle positioned in my shorts that looked REALLY bad :p) But whatever...waiting outside for almost two hours was worth it when we got inside - cause we were only a few rows back in the pit. However, with the two opening acts - things got pretty vicious. There was plenty of fighting...a few crowd surfers...lots of swaying...jumping...and...falling. :D We all fell down at one point...but none of us got trampled, or anything, so thats good. :p Hmm...the show opened up with "Reggie And The Full Effect". They were pretty kick-ass. Not only were their songs good, they had a very...unique...stage presence. The lead singer dressed up as Prince...and said they were going to play only Prince covers (and of course i believed them), but they didnt. He was so weird...he had these cheeseburgers in his shorts and he threw them out into the audiance. Supposedly, he "slapped a bitch around" with one of them. :D So they were pretty awesome. I didnt really like the next act, "The Alkaline Trio". They dressed nice and all...but theyre one of those "emo" bands and their songs werent all that great (in my opinion). But when they got off stage, Kayleigh and I left the pit, cause it was going to get effing insane for MCR. So we went up to the bleachers where Marie's mom was, and I got us some water. We just chilled and looked at everyone in the pit, trying to find Marie and Sarah. But, they came out before MCR came on stage, too. However, Sarah and I went back in for like, 2 songs just to get some pics. Talk about an experience! When MCR came on stage, everyone was jumping up and down, and I learned the hard way that it was better to jump with the crowd than to stand there. :D That was weird...I felt like I was jumping 3 feet in the air! But Sarah turned around and was like, "I cant breathe!", so we left. We went up to the bleachers and i took as many up close shots as i could. We still had a good view from where we were, though. MCR was AMAZING! SOOOO much better than they were with Green Day (plus I was more familiar with their songs...) They played all of the songs off of "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge"...which was awesome. I LOVED seeing "Cemetery Drive", "To The End", "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison", "Its not A Fashion Statement, Its a Fucking Deathwish" and "I Never Told You What I Did For A Living". Dont get me wrong - I <3 ALL of the songs off that album. :D:D However, they really shocked me by playing FOUR songs off of "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". I expected them to play "Honey, This Mirror Isnt Big Enough For The Two Of Us" and "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" (and they did), but they also played "Our Lady of Sorrows" and......"HEADFIRST FOR HALOS"!!!!!!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that song! It absolutely blew me away when they played it! I never in a million years thought they would play it...but they did! It was so awesome. Gerard was like..."This next song...is about suicide. *Gives quite the interesting little speech on how suicide is "fucking bull shit"* ...Its called "Headfirst For Halos". *I spazz and shout "you rock!"* I could tell by the way everyone was just standing there that I was the only one in our little section who really knew the song. :D So that was definately a highlight. They also played this cover song by The Misfits. I have no idea what it was called, but it was awesome. They even played a brand new, unreleased song called "Disenchanted"...so that made us feel special. :p Their encore was "Vampires..." and "Im Not Okay". They ended the show with a big confetti explosion (we made sure to pick some up on the way out). OH! How could I forget? At one point, Gerard touched Mikeys ass! Ewww! For those of you who dont know, theyre BROTHERS!
So yeah...it was effing awesome. I got plenty of keepsakes and had a great time. Going to bed at 2 AM and waiting out in the cold wearing only shorts and a shirt was SO WORTH IT! I got some pics this time, when I get them developed, I'll show you all! And maybe even post them on Photobucket...just because I can. :D |
